Lee Taubman Passes Away at Ferndale, California
A message was received here last Friday advising friends of the death of Lee Taubman, a former resident of Maquoketa, who passed away at his home in Ferndale, California, that morning. Lee Taubman was born and raised in Maquoketa, being the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Taubman, pioneers of Maquoketa. For many years after reaching young manhood he was associated with his father in Maquoketa, moving to California in 1885, where he with his family have since made their home. In 1879 he was united in marriage to Miss Carrie Wilder, who with two sons, survive. One son, Harry, passed away last December, and the two surviving are Charles of Waddington, California and brothers Linn of Cedar Woods, Colorado, Tom of Shelby, Iowa, and Will of Cresco, Iowa. Mr. Taubman had always kept in touch with affairs in Maquoketa through the columns of the Sentinel, which publication feels the loss of a staunch friend.
