George Specht, Well-Known Farmer, Passes Away
George P. Specht, who had been in failing health for eight years was claimed by death at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home west of Bellevue. He was the son of the late John and Annie Specht and was born July 13, 1888 on a farm west of town.
George married Miss Thresa Gerardy were married January 12, 1916, in St. Joseph’s church. They have always followed the pursuit of farming. He is survived by his widow, five sons, Vincent, in the U. S. Army at Nashville, Tennessee, John, Lawrence, Robert, and Joseph at home and three daughters, Veronica, Anna and Rita, at home, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Fischer and Mrs. Andrew Wagner, both of Bellevue,and brothers John of Orleans, Nebraska and William of California.
George was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bellevue.
