Earl Bickford Dies At Canton; Rites Saturday

Earl R. Bickford, 75, died Thursday in his home at Canton. He had been in ill health for some time.

Funeral services were held in the Carson funeral home Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. M. H. Nothdurft officiated and burial was made in the Canton cemetery.

He was born Sept. 23, 1880, at Ozark, Ia., a son of Stephen and Celia Bartlett. On Feb. 10, 1903, he was married to Myrtle Ralston, who survives.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by six sons: Merle of Miles, Curtis and James of Maquoketa, Paul of Sterling, Ill., Gerald of LaMotte and Richard of Morrison, Ill.; five daughters, Mrs. Berniece Earles and Mrs. Gladys Croce, Maquoketa, Nelda Bailey of Tucson, Ariz., Earlene Shady of Monmouth and Gloria Ann Puetz of Wyoming, Ia.; and 38 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Six brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
