Jackson Sentinel, October 2, 1884

Hannah Irwin was born in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, in 1826, where she lived until 1852, when she came with her parents to Jackson County, Iowa. In 1855 she was married to Mr. L. C. Irwin, and the union proved to be a happy one in all respects. Mrs. Irwin was the mother of nine children, seven sons and two daughters; they all survive her except the eldest son. Mrs. Irwin departed this life September 11th after a lingering illness of several months. She had been a member of the Presbyterian church for twenty-five years. Her funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. John Fisher, of Bellevue, assisted by the Rev. W. W. Gordon of Andrew. Mrs. Irwin’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Crawford are still living in Andrew.
