Sara Jane SinkeySara Jane Sinkey passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chas. Heister on Saturday, Dec. 29, at 7:50 p. m. The deceased was taken ill on Sunday, Dec. 23, and became steadily worse until the end came on Saturday, following an attack of pneumonia.
Sara Jane Heath was born in Jackson county on May 10, 1849, where she spent the most of her life. On February 9, 1870, she was married to Daniel Sinkey, also of Jackson county, where they spent their married life, until the death of her husband, thirteen years ago, December 9th.
They were the parents of eleven children, six sons and five daughters, three daughters preceded her in death. Surviving are six sons, Isaac of Hibbing, Minn.; Henry of Shell Rock, Iowa; Matthias of Underwood, Iowa; Melvin of Clinton, Iowa; and Miles and Thomas, whereabouts unknown; two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Heister of Bernard, Iowa and Mrs. Burt Bowling of Cedar Rapids, Ia. One brother, Peter Heath, near Crabbtown. Also, 32 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 o'clock Monday at the Emeline church, with Elder John Heide officiating. Burial at Hickory Grove cemetery.
