DIED – Burleson – At her home in Waterford, Jackson county, Iowa, on Friday, April 25th, Mrs. Eunice Burleson, aged 75 years.

Forty-two years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Burleson came from eastern New York, seeking a home in the West, and settled on the spot where they resided together until death separated the aged couple. A large family of children, grand children and great-grand children, have grown up about them, and though death is the fate of all, and is to be expected for all, yet the death of Mrs. Burleson was a shock to all the large circle of friends and relatives. A woman of large motherly heart, her house was always open, table always spread for those who came, and thousands can remember with gratitude, her kindness and generosity. Her aged husband, with whom she travelled life’s pathway for more than fifty-five years, three sons and one daughter, a large number of friends, gathered about her remains and saw the last sad rites administered to the dearest of life’s treasures, the wife and mother. - Record
