MECHANICSVILLE-

Funeral services for Guy Alfred Wright, 83, were held at the Presbyterian church August 22, 1969, with Rev. Ralph Schenk of Stanwood officiating. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery. Mr. Wright died August 20, 1969, following a long illness.

The son of David Wright and Ida Trott Wright, he was born in Cedar County, March 16, 1886 and was married to Minnie Ridenour in 1930. The couple farmed in the Mechanicsville vicinity until 1948 when the retired and moved to Mechanicsville.

Guy Wright was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Cedar Lodge AF & AM, Tipton and was a charter member of the Farm Bureau. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Ronald of Cypress, California and Hubert of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Richard Clauson of Strawberry Point, Kenneth Wright, Donald Wright, and Carole Wright of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Pearl Wright, Clinton and Ora Schroeder, The Dalles, Oregon, three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Don Smith, Ernest Bolton, Everett Ferguson, Walter Kiehl, Paul Horner and Phil Sorenson. Vocalist was Mrs. Leroy Wendt.
