VALENTINE NEWMAN

Valentine Newman, an old and respected resident of Jackson County, died at his home north of Bridgeport, Tuesday evening April 14, 1903, aged 76 years and 2 months, of general debility. Deceased leaves a bereaved wife and three children, a daughter residing in North Dakota, a son, Sam, living in southwest Iowa, and a son Will, with whom he was living at the time of his death. He was well and favorably known and an active citizen in our community twenty years ago, but had lived retired and quiet of recent years. The funeral took place from the house at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating. Interment in the Bridgeport Cemetery.
