Death of John G. Van Evera

John G. Van Evera died last Thursday afternoon, October 13, 1881, after a three weeks illness, of typhoid fever, aged about 34 years. He was born in Canajoharie, New York, and came to this city in 1871. In 1872 his father, J. R. Van Evera, and family moved here, and with him and his brothers, deceased has successfully carried on the hardware trade under the style of J. R. Van Evera & Co. since that year. In 1875 he married Miss Lucy, daughter of D. C. Clary of this city, who with three children is left to mourn his too early death. The deceased was apparently the most robust and vigorous of a large family, but by his decease the family circle is for the first time irreparably broken. He was an amiable and upright man.

The funeral will take place from his residence tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon at 2 o’clock.
