Celine A. Dempewolf, 75, of Bellevue, died Monday, June 14, 1999 at Mercy Health Care Center, St. Joseph’s Unit, in Dubuque.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bellevue, with Msgr. Cletus J. Hawes officiated & Burial was in the church cemetery.
Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kingery Funeral Home in Bellevue. A scripture service was held at 6 p.m.
Mrs. Dempewolf was born Oct. 19, 1923 in Bellevue to Arnold and Barbara Meier Lauterborn.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in 1941. After graduation she worked at the Savanna Army Depot.
On June 19, 1945 she married Dr. Robert D. Dempewolf at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue.
After their marriage, she was active in her husband’s medical practice in Bellevue. He died Jan. 5, 1999.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and it’s Rosary Society.
Survivors include one daughter, Roxanne (Mrs. Gary) McMurray of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; four sons, Robert Dale of Bellevue, Ronald Milo (and (Jeanette) of Bellevue, Randall Lee (and Christine) of Dubuque and Roger Allen of Pewaukee, Wis.; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Barbara Bowman of Bellevue, and one brother, Marcus Lauterborn of Hot Springs, S. D.
She was preceded in death by one grand-daughter, Lisa; two brothers, Milo and Dale Lauterborn, and two sisters, Lavita Gerlich and Wilma Noonan.
