Josephine Carman Seaward

Mrs. B. W. Seaward, Sr. died at her residence in this city at 6:15 o’clock last Friday morning of pneumonia, after an illness of about a week. Mrs. Seaward was the daughter of Lewis and Juliette Carman. She was born in New Jersey, April 15th, 1839, came west with her parents in the year 1842, who located in Sabula. In 1866, she was married to B. W. Seaward of this city, where she resided to the time of her death. They had five children, Benjamin W., Josephine, Juliette, Kittie May and Belle, all who survive her except Kittie May, who died when she was one and a half old. Mrs. Seaward was an exemplary woman, and leaves a host of warm friends to mourn her loss. The funeral took place Sunday afternoon from her late residence, the services being conducted by Rev. Klose, assisted by Rev. Williams. Her remains were taken to the Presbyterian Cemetery for interment, followed by a large concourse of friends.
