DIED

MAHONY-On Sunday, January 17, Mr. Henry Mahony of Garryowen, this county, and father of M. Mahony, Deputy County Treasurer, and father-in-law of Mr. John Donnelly, County Treasurer, aged 80 years.

A good man has gone ripe with years. After years of industrious toil “He sleeps well.”

Mr. Mahony was a native of the county of Cork, Ireland; immigrated to the United States fifty years ago, and to this county in the year 1836, at that time visited by roving bands of Indians. He was a consistent member of the Catholic Church, and was buried by its solemn funeral rites.
