Maquoketa Excelsior, October 11, 1866.

DIED-

In the town of Bellevue, on the 21st of September, 1866, after a protracted illness, Mrs Sarah Seward, wife of Wm. T. Seward.

Concerning the death of Mrs. Seward, the Bellevue Journal has the following:
One year ago on the 9th of July they were married at the residence of her father, Mr. Scheib, in the town of Maquoketa, and came to Bellevue, where Mr. Seward was located in business. During her short stay with us, she won the love and admiration of all who knew her. She was an affectionate wife and devoted Christian. Society has lost one of its brightest ornaments. Her funeral was attended by a large concourse of citizens and heart-stricken relatives. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. J. Ridlington, our Methodist minister, who dwelt on her many virtues. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
