Prosperous Farmer Takes His Own Life by Shooting

The dead body of Sylvester Veach a well-to-do farmer residing four miles north of Bellevue, was found in the kitchen of his home Tuesday morning a bullet hole through his head telling the story of suicide.

Deceased had been in poor health for some time and it was undoubtedly during a fit of melancholia that he committed the rash act. An inquest was held by Dr. Moulton, appointed by Coroner Lowered, the jury being composed of C. L. Efferding. Wm. Schoop and Ed Greibel, who found that deceased had met death by shooting himself through the head with a 22 caliber rifle while in a fit of mental aberration.

Mr. Veach was born at LaMotte in 1885, and is survived by his wife and four children.
