October 29, 1918Bellevue Boy Makes Supreme Sacrifice
Another Jackson county boy has given his life that the world may be better and Bellevue’s service flag now contains another golden star. A few days ago word was received by Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schroeder of Bellevue that their son Alvin has died from wounds in France, receiving the same in action on July 24. He enlisted at Dubuque Feb. 5, 1917 and arrived in France the latter part of June.
