Charles F. O’Rourk

The funeral for Charles F. O’Rourk, 72, 116 ˝ E. Platt, Maquoketa, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Robert Palen will officiate. Mr. O’Rourk died Friday, Jan. 9 at the Jackson County Public Hospital. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan 11 at Haylock-O’Hara & Kedley Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Charles O’Rourk was born Aug. 12, 1908 in Britt to Frank and Clara Jacobson O’Rourk. He married Tressa Mae Cook July 25, 1928 in Britt. He was retired from the John Day Company. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Sacred Heart Church, Mauqoketa Lions Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Hayes, Maquoketa; his mother, Mrs. Clara O’Rourk, Maquoketa; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
