Maquoketa businesswoman Mary Ann Trevathan, of Maquoketa, died Saturday, Sept. 29 of massive injuries she received in an early evening one-car accident. Trevathan, 51, of 515 West Angus, Maquoketa, died at St. Joseph Mercy Health Center, Dubuque.

Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Haylock, O’Hara and Kedley Funeral Home, Maquoketa Burial was in a Charleston, Mo., cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Gjerde of First Lutheran Church, Maquoketa, officiated.

Mary Ann Trevathan was born Oct. 2, 1932 in Diehlstadt, Mo., to Stanley and Olga L. Vied Merrick. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri.

She was employed at Maquoketa State Bank for the past 23 years. At the time of her death she was a senior vice-president and trust officer.

She was a member of the Maquoketa Business and Professional Women currently served as president of the Northeast Iowa Bank Administration Chapter; a state officer of the National Association of Bank Women; and presently was serving as Maquoketa city treasurer.

Survivors include one son, Stanley of Topeka, Kansas; four brothers, Van Merrick of Oregon. Ray of Shingle Springs, Calif., Gene of St. Louis, Mo., and Chester of Cairo, Ill.

Her parents preceded her in death.
