April 6, 1905DIED. –Patrick Sheean died at his home near Iron Hills, Wednesday morning, March 29, 1905, at 9:20 o’clock, aged 67 years, 11 months and 12 days. He was born in Ireland, April 17, 1837 and came to Iowa while quite young. He was married while quite young. He was married in holy bonds of wedlock to Miss Sarah H. Davison, Nov. 11. 1865, and to this union ten children were born. One son, Willie, died about three years ago from the effects of an operation for appendicitis, leaving nine to survive him, also wife and other relatives, who mourn the loss of a loving husband and kind father. He had been a sufferer with dropsy of the heart for seven months. He was a patient sufferer, but in spite of all that loving hands could do and the aid of physicians he was called from his loved ones to the great beyond. He made many friends wherever he went and will be sadly missed from his neighborhood. A large circle of friends followed his remains to the Catholic church in Otter Creek, where he was laid to rest. Funeral services were conducted by Father Halpin. Those who acted as pallbearers were Ed. Trimble, James Teeters, Mike Pierce, Frank McLaughlin, Lewis Sebarger and Peter Turnis.
