Obituary.

Mrs. H. F. Burnap, of Toledo, Ohio, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Chas. Tozer, at Baldwin, Iowa, Monday, March 31, 1890, of eraemic convulsions, resulting from diabetes. While residing in Dubuque a few years ago, she had a severe attack of dropsy. Unable to get relief there, she came to this city for treatment and was cured. Becoming ill again this winter in Toledo and being unable to get relief there, she again came home for treatment, reaching here only a little over a week before she died. She was in town the Saturday before she died to see her physician, Dr. Carson, and requested him to tell her the truth in regard to her case, and he told her there was no help for her. She seemed perfectly resigned to her fate, saying that she was not afraid to die. Her husband and aged mother, who had been living with them this winter, were telegraphed for, but did not reach here in time to again see her alive. She became very much worse early Sunday morning. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haines, of Buckhorn, where her early life was passed and where she was dear to all who knew her. Her kind, sympathetic, womanly ways and genial disposition won her a host of friends wherever she went. She was born Aug. 25, 1857. In July, 1880 she married H. F. Burnap, then of Baldwin, with whom she lived happily until her early death. The mourning husband, the aged mother, who has been called upon to mourn the loss of her husband, a son, grandchild and daughter within the past two years, her brother and sisters have the warmest sympathies of a host of friends. The funeral services were held at the Buckhorn Church, Wednesday afternoon. They were conducted by Rev. Van Ness, of this city, and the church was filled with the friends of her youth who came as mourners.
