January 20, 1893Henry Le Doit died at his home in this city, Monday evening, January 16, of asthma and old age. He was in his seventy-sixth year. He was born in Connecticut. While quite young he moved to western New York where he was married to Miss Phoebe Whitney, Feb. 14, 1852. They moved to this city in 1854. To them three children, a son and two daughters, were born. The son was killed in a runaway accident several years ago. The daughters, Mrs. S. B. Sears and Mrs. Robt. Taft, reside in this city. The funeral services were held at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon, and were conducted by the Rev. Francis M. Archer. “Henry Le Doit was a good man,” say all who knew him.
