Maquoketa Excelsior
May 8, 1903SACKETT: - Sunday afternoon, April 26th, occurred the death of Mrs. BelCenna Wilbur-Sackett at the home of Mr. Geo. W. Trout, 1403 Washington Boulevard, Chicago. Her death was the culmination of a lingering sickness, against which she had been battling bravely for years. Funeral services were held at the home where she died, Wednesday, April 29th at 1 p.m. The flowers, in great profusion and exquisitely beautiful, were sent in from far and near by warm personal friends as a token of the loving regard in which they held her. Four of the pall-bearers were young men who once lived in Maquoketa: Raymond Swigart, Harry Woley, Harry Squiers and Robert Millikan. Miss May Maurer, daughter of Mrs. Lizzie Swigart-Maurer, and Mrs. Carrie Swigart-Goen sang very sweetly two hymns that had been favorites of Mrs. Sackett. A Maquoketa minister, Rev. S. Shepherd, officiated. The burial was at Graceland, Mrs. Sackett being laid to rest by the side of her husband and child. She left one son, George, a lad about ten years old, who is warmly welcomed to the home and the hearts of Mr. and Mrs. Trout and their boys.
