In Elk River township, Clinton county, June 20 and 22, of malignant diphtheria, Charles and Frank, sons of Adam and Susan Hilfert, aged respectively 11 years 9 months and 20 days and 6 years 2 months and 20 days.
Mr. Hilfert’s house is indeed a house of sickness and sorrow. Within the short space of a week the whole family of six members has been stricken down by disease and two of the number carried to the silent tomb. The mourning parents have the sympathy of the entire community and the heartfelt prayers of all that the remaining members of the family may be speedily restored to health. The little boys were buried in Evergreen Cemetery, attended by a large concourse of people.
