Leo C. Sommers Dies;
Last Rites Today, Andrew

Andrew, Mar. 27 – Leo C. Sommers, 66, an Andrew area farmer died in the Bellevue Memorial hospital Monday evening. He had been in ill health for some time.

The body is at the Haylock-O’Hara funeral home in Maquoketa. Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John’s Catholic church here. The Rev. William F. Powers, pastor, will officiate and interment will be made in Holy Rosary cemetery at LaMotte.

Mr. Sommers was born July 17, 1891, in Bellevue, son of the late Edward and Angela Sisler Sommers. On June 30, 1913, he was married to Winnie Fuller at LaMotte. She survives.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Till and Mrs. Orville Budde, both of Bellevue;; one son, Oscar of Andrew; three brothers, Henry and John, both of Maquoketa, and Edward of Bellevue;; and 29 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
