Died.
FILTER – In this city, early on the morning of Friday, August 15, 1873, at the age of thirty-six years, Ursala Filter, wife of Richard Filter.
Mrs. Filter had been sick two weeks with Typhoid fever when the summons came, and she bade farewell to her husband and children and passed over to the shining shore. [Davenport, Burlington and Keokuk papers please copy.]
HANNA – In Bridgeport, Jackson county, Iowa on Sunday evening, August 17, 1873, Mr. John Hanna, aged 73 years.
Mr. Hanna came to Iowa twenty-three years ago and settled in this county, where he has resided ever since. He was an active business man, honest and upright in all his transactions, and universally respected. His wife and one child survive him and mourn the loss of a good husband and father.
He was one of the charter members of Helion Lodge No. 36, A. F. and M. and continued his connection with it until the last. His remains were buried with Masonic orders by the lodge he helped to organize many years ago.
