Bellevue Man Dies Thursday Morning

Asa J. Jones, 81, of Bellevue, died Thursday morning after a four months illness, Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic church with Father L. E. Wendling officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery in Bellevue.

Asa Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Jones, was born August 27, 1860, in Galena, Ill. He married Mary Lehner of Galena, who died on Nov. 21, 1936.

He is survived by one son, Sam, of Bellevue; five daughters, Mrs. R. V. Stewart of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Mrs. Ward Straitz of Clayton, Iowa; Mrs. E. H. Stewart, Irene and Blanche of Bellevue; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
