[Davenport newspaper 21 Dec 1900] Mrs. Ruth G. Burrows, widow of the late Lewis W. Burrows, died this morning at 7 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie B. Morton at Iowa Falls [Hardin County] Ia., where she was spending the winter.

Ruth G. Glaspell was born November 1, 1823 near Cincinnati, Ohio, and came to this city in 1839, with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Glaspell.

In the spring of 1848 she was married to Lewis W. Burrows, who died last February on the old homestead in Davenport township where they had resided for the past 50 years.

Mrs. Burrows was the only remaining charter member of the Christian Church in this city [now located at 15th & LeClaire Streets facing Kirkwood Blvd called Harvest Time Family Worship Center, 636 Kirkwood Blvd, 52803]. She was also a member of the [Scott County] Old Settlers Association She was ill but two days and her end came peacefully.

She is survived by four children, Mrs. Jennie B. Morton of Iowa Falls, [Hardin County] Iowa, John L. of Iron Hill, [Jackson County], David W. and Mrs. Ruth B. Adams of this city.

The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Christian church, Rev. Davis officiating. Interment at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, 2501 Eastern Avenue, Davenport, IA 52803.
