DIED-

LOWE- D. Jay Lowe was born in Crawford County, Iowa, September 15, 1885 and died Sunday, January 5, 1908, at the home of his parents in Maquoketa, Iowa, aged 22 years, 3 months, and 20 days. He came with his parents to Maquoketa in 1891, where he resided until his death. He was a young man of good moral character, a dutiful son and had the respect of all who knew him. He began to fail in health about one year ago and for the past eight weeks he was confined to the house. The physicians pronounced the disease one of the lungs. All that medical skill and the loving care of parents could do was done for his relief, but his life work seemed ended and he passed peacefully to the great beyond. The bereaved family have the sympathy of the community in their temporal loss.
Funeral services were held at the home in Gibson’s addition on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., and burial in Bridgeport cemetery, Rev. D. F. Boomershine officiating.
