Maquoketa Record, January 7, 1908.

L. CIERSI, the north Main street fruit dealer, died at his home in this city yesterday. In the early part of the winter Mr. Ciersi had a severe attack of pneumonia from which he failed to fully recover, quick consumption set in which caused his death. He was born in Sicily. He leaves a wife and five children in deep sorrow besides other relatives. The funeral will occur tomorrow at 10 o’clock. His parents and brother are here from Chicago. Mr. Ciersi has made many friends while here and his death is universally regretted.

DIED

CERESI- L. Ceresi died at his home in the Second ward, Monday morning after a several weeks illness. In early fall Mr. Ceresi was taken with a very severe attack of pneumonia from which he was unable to recover and as a result consumption set in and thus his death. A wife and five children and also a father and mother and several brothers survive to mourn his departure. Funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Father Bowen officiating. Mr. Ceresi has for a number of years conducted a fruit store on North Main street during which time he had won a large number of friends.
