Maquoketa Excelsior, September 11, 1873.

A Victim of Cholera.

In Davenport, Iowa, Thursday Sept. 4, 1873, Wm. Magee, aged 39 years.

Wm. Magee was born in Mercer county, Penn. He came to Iowa in 1856, settling in Monmouth township, where he followed the masons trade. When the rebellion broke out he enlisted in Company L, Second Iowa Cavalry, and during the entire war served his country faithfully, braving the dangers of the tented field. On the return of peace he made his home in Maquoketa, resumed his trade, and for many years past had been a citizen of our city. A wife is left to mourn the loss of a companion and protector.
