OBITUARY – Died, suddenly, at the house of her son-in-law, Dr. K. A. Wood, on Sunday, March 5, Mrs. Harriet Hudson, aged 82. Born at Hartford, Conn., in the year 1794, the child of pious parents, she early made the teachings of Christ the guide of her life. She resided in Sabula almost 40 years. Her active life exhibited a rare combination of wisdom in counsel with promptness and efficiency in action, both tempered and refined by Christian piety. Her declining years were marked by resolute endeavor to avoid giving care and trouble to those about her, by wise and kind advice to those who have yet their experiment of life to make, and by patient waiting for her great change. She has lived a true and noble life. Our town is made poorer by her death, and may well put on mourning for the loss of one of its earliest and best friends. O. E.

Charles Wentworth, one of the pioneer settlers of Van Buren township, died at Fairfield March 6, 1876, aged 72. He was highly respected by his neighbors, and his death is the removal of one of the landmarks of pioneer times. I. C. L.
