Weekly Maquoketa Excelsior
June 11, 1861

DROWNED – On Friday last a man by the name of WILLIAM SPOTTS was drowned in the North Fork of the Maquoketa, while fishing with a seine. His body was recovered a few hours after he was drowned. He leaves a wife and family.

DIED – In this city, on the 27th ult, ADALASKA, son of GEORGE and HARRIET ELDRIDGE, aged 5 months and 21 days.
