Bellevue Leader, April 23.

DIED. – At the residence of her son, Charles Schaffer, in Washington township, this county, Mrs. Mary Schaffer, aged eighty-nine years, two months and one day.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Brown, of Green Island. The remains were followed to the Hazen cemetery by grief stricken relatives and a large concourse of sorrowing neighbors. For to know this good old lady was to love her. In middle life she united with, lived and died a consistent member of the Methodist church. Thu subject of this notice was born in Chester county, Pennsylvania, from whence she moved to Ohio, where she raised twelve children, eight of whom survive her. She moved from Ohio to Jackson county, Iowa, in the year 1856, where she has resided nearly all the time since, a loving, never tireless mother, and kind neighbor. The deceased left besides her eight children, 53 grand, 80 great-grand, and 4 great-great-grand children, or 145 descendants to mourn her loss.
