DROWNED – A sad case of drowning occurred at Bellevue on the night of Tuesday, the 18th inst., resulting in the death of a young man named John Baptist Mosel, and the loss of a valuable team which belonged to the drowned man. It seems that Mr. Mosel, in company with two gentlemen of Bellevue, was returning from Galena, on the ice, when they accidentally missed the usually traveled track and drove into an air hole. His companions succeeded in escaping, but were unable to rescue Mr. Mosel who sank beneath the ice. He resided near Lamotte, in this county, and leaves a wife and three children. The body had not been recovered at last advices.
