Died.

Manasses Scott was born near Allentown, Lehigh Co., Pa., about seventy years ago and in the early fifties came to Maquoketa where he resided until his death last Thursday, July 27. He was married several times. His marriage with Miss Mary Shaw was blessed with four children, two of whom, Jennie and Joseph, survive to mourn the loss of a dear departed father. He was a hard working man and dug from the soil a fair living for himself and family. He made a profession of religion in early manhood and was a reader and believer in the bible. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church on Saturday at 2 p.m. and burial in Mt. Hope cemetery, Rev. D. J. Boomershine officiating.
