Mrs. C. Crowley Passes Away At Preston Home
Former Bellevue Woman Succumbs Monday Morning Following Long Illness

Preston – (Special) – The death of Mrs. Con Crowley, formerly Miss Anna McCarthy of Bellevue, at her home in Preston Monday morning at 9:30 caused deep sorrow among her relatives and many friends in this city. She had been ill for many months and to add to her afflictions about three months ago she fractured her leg, but through all her sufferings she maintained the patience and cheerfulness that characterized her life.

Anna McCarthy was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jerry McCarthy and was born in Bellevue 56 years ago, her birthday being July 19. She remained at home helping with the cares of the family until no longer needed. She then opened a millinery store and made many new friends by her lovable disposition. Seventeen years ago she was united in marriage with Con Crowley of Preston.

Besides her devoted husband, she leaves to mourn, two brothers, Ben and Jerry, and one sister, Mrs. Con Downey of Spragueville, a number of nieces and nephew and a host of friends.

Mrs. Crowley was a true Christian in every sense of the word and a faithful member of the Catholic church. She was a member of the Altar society, the Rosary sodality and the Preston Woman’s club.

The funeral was held Wednesday morning at 9:00 o’clock at the Catholic church at Preston.
