Maquoketa Weekly Excelsior, December 2, 1869:

GRAY- After a lingering and painful disease of nearly four years standing, at the residence of Dr. Harrington, in Maquoketa, on the 22nd of November last, Miss Augusta Gray, aged seventeen years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Gray.
Augusta was patient and resigned to the will of her Heavenly Father, retained amid bodily sufferings the spirit of the true Christian, that knows in whom to put its trust. May that God in whom Augusta trusted, comfort the wounded and stricken hearts of the parents and children of the afflicted family.
