CAHILL

Mrs. Thos Cahill passed away at her home in Otter Creek township last Monday after an extended illness, aged 73 years. Deceased whose maiden name was Catherine Breene was born at Pottsville, Pa. She came west with her parents at an early age and they settled at Galena where the subject of the sketch married Thomas Cahill in 1852. The young couple located at Platteville, Wis, where they resided until 1872 when they moved to this county and engaged in farming. Mrs. Cahill was the mother of eleven children eight of whom with the husband survive, namely: John, James P., Thomas, Pierce, Robert, Mrs. John F. Hayes, Mrs. Wm. Hayes and Mrs. A. J. Hanser, all of Jackson county, the latter a resident of Bellevue. Mrs. Cahill was a woman who was loved and respected in the community in which she lived and her death is mourned by all. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at the Catholic church at Otter Creek with Rev. Father Halpin officiating. – Bellevue Leader
