Obituary

Mrs. Anna Krumviede, passed from this life Thursday, April 14, at the home of her son, John Fred Krumviede near Reeceville, at the age of 93 years.

She was born June 26, 1833 in Switzerland, and when 17 years of age migrated to America, locating at Chicago. The following year in February, she was united in marriage to Kedrick Krumviede, who preceded her in death 32 years ago. After living in Chicago one year they came to Jackson county where she has since lived.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter, namely, Fred of Reeceville, Henry and August of Bellevue, and Mrs. Louise Echoff of Hurley, S.Dak., two children having preceded her in death.

She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great- grandchildren.

Mrs. Krumviede had enjoyed very good health until about two years ago, since that time she had been confined to bed most of the time. A few days before her passing she suffered a light stroke after which she fell into a coma and slept peacefully away.

She was a member of the Lutheran faith to which she was ever faithful. In her death Jackson County loses one of its oldest and most highly respected citizens and the last of a fifth generation.

Services were held at the home on Monday afternoon, when many relatives and friends paid their last tributes to this aged lady. Interment was made in Reeceville cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. Beiderman.
