DEATH TAKES MRS. GEORGE BECK SATURDAY

Although in rather delicate health for some time, the death of Mrs. George Beck which occurred Saturday afternoon, Feb. 16, at her home on E. Platt street, came as a shock to her immediate relatives and her many friends in the city and vicinity. Mrs. Beck was a quiet, unassuming lady who took constant pride in her home, family and friends. A faithful wife, a devoted mother, a loving "grandma," sister and friend has left our midst and her passing marks the close of a well-spent, useful life. She with enviable pride offered three of her sons, Will, Christopher and Albert, to her adopted country during the world war, and all during the conflict her loyalty to the flag of her boys was true and uncompromising.

Mrs. Anna Hinkle Beck was born in Wartenberg (Wurtemberg), Germany, December 20, 1858, and on April 23, 1885, she was united in marriage to George Beck, and with him came to America, settling in Jackson county, Iowa, where they have since resided. Besides her husband there are left to mourn their loss one daughter, Mrs. Mary Lancaster, and six sons, Fred, Christopher, William, Albert, Harry, and John; four grandchildren, Helen and George Lancaster, Richard and Aurora Beck, all of this city and vicinity. Two brothers, George and Fred Hinkle of California, also survive.

The funeral was held from the Methodist church this Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. F. C. Worcester officiating.
