MAQUOKETA — Melissa L. Bean, 58, of Maquoketa, died Wednesday at the Fejervary Health Care Center, Davenport.

Burial will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction.

She was born Oct. 13, 1948, in Anamosa to Wilbur and Julia Meade Gottschalk. She married David Bean on Jan. 26, 1980, in Jackson County.

She graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1966.

She was a nurse’s aide at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, for 13 years.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Maquoketa.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Holly Lynne (Scott) Collins of Maquoketa; one son, Daniel “D.J.” (Amy) Bean of Maquoketa; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
