OBITUARY OF MRS. B. D. LARY

Anna Eugenia, third daughter of Wilbur J. and Cynthia Goodenow Fitch, was born in Maquoketa, Ia., Feb. 6, 1857. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Deep Creek, 9 miles south of Maquoketa, where she grew to an interesting young womanhood and was united in marriage to B. D. Lary on Feb. 24, 1878, at her home.

She was the fond, happy mother of six children, Mrs. Daisy B. McKenneth of White River, S.D., a baby girl who died in infancy, Alfred C. of Maquoketa, Mrs. Garret B. Rich, Delmar, Ia., Chester of Dubuque and Mrs. Norman M. Brown of Bellevue.

After her marriage she lived one year at Storm Lake, Ia. They returned to Clinton county where she lived 14 years. In the spring of 1894 she moved to the farm two miles south of Maquoketa where she resided until she and her husband retired from the farm and came to Maquoketa in the autumn of 1911 and located on South Second street where she passed away.

She was a devoted, consecrated mother and faithful wife and companion. A neighbor ready to lend a helping hand to any one in need. For many years she was a member of the Union church society and was a faithful helper in all that was good for the welfare and uplift of the community.

In recent years her health began to fail and as years came and went complications set in and the last week she failed rapidly until the end came when she fell peacefully asleep at her home Wednesday, July 13, at 12:50 a.m., at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 7 days. Her work is done and she has entered into her eternal rest.

Besides the sorrowing husband and children, 18 grandchildren, one brother, John E. Fitch of Ashville, S.C., two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Nairm and Mrs. Gazella Watters, also a large circle of relatives and friends survive to mourn her departure.

Funeral services will be held from the late home on S. Second street Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. D. F. Boomershine will officiate.
