Manford E. Robinson, Former Resident, Dies in MichiganManford E. Robinson, 67, son of Dr. and Mrs. M. A. Robinson of Maquoketa and an ex-resident himself, died Wednesday in an Ann Arbor, Mich., hospital following a heart attack on Sunday.
Services and burial will be Saturday in Ann Arbor.
He was born July 11, 1892, in DeWit, Ia. He graduated from Maquoketa high school and attended college in Dubuque. A veteran of World War I, he enlisted at the age of 24 in the U. S. Marines. He served in active combat during the first world war. For a number of years he farmed near Maquoketa until receiving a governmental appointment. At the time ill health forced his retirement, he was farm manager at the Milan, Mich., federal prison.
Surviving are his widow, the former Ethel Ingalls, whom he married in 1914; his parents; two sons, Manford, jr., of Morristown, Pa., and Bruce of Flint, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Helen) Stamm of Mifflinburg, Pa., Mrs. J. C. (Dorothy) Benson of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Milton (Ann) Lawson of Clinton, Mich.; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Cuddy of Maryville, Mo., and Mrs. R. D. Baker of Decorah, Ia.; three brothers, Millard of Bethesda, Md., James E. of Phoenix, Ariz., and John Q. of Maquoketa; and several grandchildren.
