CALLED FROM EARTHLY HOME IN EARLY CHILDHOOD
Once more the angel of death has entered one of our homes and taken a life and character, this time little Alice May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Starr. For ten summers she was a sunbeam in the home and community, and life went out after ten days of illness starting with a cold and developing into septicaemia which after a few days of intense suffering, in spite of all that care and medical science could do, the watchers knew it was not within power to save her and she must sleep with that same sweet smile on her face which had been characheristic of Alice.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Starr and besides her heartbroken parents, she leaves four brothers and three sisters, her grandparents and several uncles and aunts. Hers was the privilege, by her sweetness, of making and keeping friends. She was always in her place when at Sunday school, sickness being the only barrier to prevent her, and just a short time before her spirit took its flight she repeated to her nurse the 23rd Psalm. This surely must have been her testimony to her faith in God and a consolation to those who are left behind.
She was born February 5, 1915, and passed away May 19, 1925, aged 10 years, 3 months and 14 days. The funeral was held from the parents' home and Baptist church Thursday afternoon and the body was laid to rest in Mount Hope cemetery, the pastor of the church, Rev. S.R. Dunlop, officiating.
