Ben DeLoss Tubbs Dies In Hospital; Services Monday.
Ben DeLoss Tubbs, 64, retired Maquoketa carpenter, died Friday evening in the Jackson County Public Hospital here following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Haylock-O'Hara Funeral Home, Maquoketa, Rev. Bruce S. Dean, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiated. Interment was made in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Tubbs was born May 1, 1889, in Maquoketa, a son of John G. and Catherine Zitterell Tubbs. He was married in Ft. Dodge, Ia., in 1915 to the former Pearl Gunderson, who preceded him in death.
One brother, Roy S. Tubbs, and a nephew, Robert K. Tubbs, both of Maquoketa, are the immediate survivors. In addition to his wife, his parents preceded him in death.
