Mrs. Sophie Ohlmeyer, 93, pass away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chester King, in this city,9pm Saturday, following a fall which her hip was broken Monday.
Funeral services were held Monday at 1:20 in the King home and at 2pm in St John's Lutheran church in Preston. Rev. A. G. Langholz officiated and burial was in the Spragueville cemetery.
The hymns "Take My Hand,Dear Father, "I Am But A Stranger Here" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Albert Stoltz, F.C. Schroeder, Mrs F. C. Schroeder, and Lenora Nieland. Flower girls were Mrs George Hoffman, Mrs John Koch, Mrs Herman Asmussen and Mrs. C. Schroeder. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased: Harry and Howard Wink, Bernard and Alvin Ohlmeyer.
Sophie Kunze was born in Hanover, Germany, Dec 27, 1844, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Frederick Kunze. she came to this country when she was 27 years old. In 1871 she was married to Henry Ohlmeyer at Andrew.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs Chester King, of Miles, three sons, Will and Ernest of Spragueville and Ed of Wyoming: 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Her husband, one daughter and three sons preceded her in death.
The deceased was a faithful member of St John's Lutheran church of Preston and was an active worker in the aid society of that organization. Thus closed a life of love, courage, activity in home, church and community of one who was beloved by all.
