NARROW GAUGE ROAD BOUGHT BY OHIO MAN; MAY BE ABANDONED

E. W. Bell of Springfield, Ohio, heading an eastern concern, has purchased Bellevue-Cascade narrow gauge railroad from E. H. Bradley, who purchased it from the Milwaukee road several years ago and has operated it under the name of the Bellevue-Cascade railroad. The narrow gauge road is a branch line of thirty-six miles between Bellevue and Cascade. The new owners, Mr. Bell states, stand ready to handle all shipments, both incoming and outgoing, if the shippers will cooperate. The shippers are now being consulted and if sufficient support is given the line to make it a paying proposition, the work of repairing will begin in the near future and if not, the road will be abandoned and the equipment junked.
