IN ATTACHMENT

Before W. W. Brown, a Justice of the Peace within and for the County of DuBuque

NOTICE is herby given, That a suit in attachment has been commenced, entitled as above, against the goods and chattels, rights and credits of the said defendant, an absent debtor, and that the said suit stands continued until the 28th day of April next, at the office of said Justice in the town of Bellview, Wisconsin Territory.

(Notice placed in the DuBuque newspaper, "Iowa News", regarding an attachment lawsuit in Justice of the Peace court in Bellview (now Bellevue). Bellview was part of DuBuque County, Wisconsin Territory in 1838. W. W. Brown, Justice of the Peace, was also the proprietor of Brown's Hotel in Bellevue, the site of the "Bellevue War.")
