GIANT CORN STALK
Jake Flathers, of Farmers Creek Township, laid a stalk of corn on our counter Saturday that measured 14 feet, ten inches. It was planted June 2d and had two large ears of corn on it that are over eight feet from the root of the stalk. He expects a yield of eighty bushels to the acre. Great is the corn crop this year in old Jackson.
