TWO PIONEER ABSTRACT FIRMS MERGE BUSINESSES
A merger of two of the oldest firms in Maquoketa was consumated this week when the Keck abstract firm, for forty years one of the leading abstract businesses in Iowa, merged with the firm of Farr & Farr, abstractors, for many years a leader in this line of business.
The new firm will be known as Jackson County Abstract Company and will be managed by Mr. Reynolds Farr, son of the late C. W. Farr. Mr. Frank Keck, former manager of the abstract department of Keck & Sons, retired to give his attention to the law business with his brother, W. L. Keck. This merger will not affect the law practice of either firm, this department remaining separate and distinct. With the abstract books merged, patrons will find the new firm completely equipped to render the last word in abstracting.
