A 1918 murder committed in Jackson Co.

I would like to know if I can obtain information on the murder trial of Guy Melvin Wilford.He committed murder in Sept. of 1918 and was convicted also in Sept. 19,1918 to Iowa State Prison in Fort Madison
He was my Great Uncle and I would like to know what happened to his life.
